Project Designer/Architect - Hospitality

Perkins Eastman seeks a Project Designer/Architect to join our New York Office. Project Designer/Architect is in a position to plan and design projects of medium to large scope. Perkins Eastman covers multiple practice areas including hospitality, residential, education, healthcare, senior living and housing. The designer will focus on hospitality and residential projects but will collaborate with other studios at times.  We are seeking an individual with strong design, technical and communication skills working within the design team Principals and Senior Staff to create exemplary buildings to suit clients’ and users’ needs on projects of all scales.   Primary responsibilities will include supporting the design and planning process for multiple building typologies and production/coordination of architectural construction documents.


Job Responsibilities:                 

  • Assist Principal-in-Charge, Sr Designers with generating Design Services Proposals.
  • May oversee a team of architects and designers and determine staffing required to meet milestones.
  • Responsible for major projects, plan and develops projects of medium to large scopes.
  • Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate matters related to design issues with in-house technical teams and outside specialty counsels.
  • Lead in coordination with consultants and design team
  • Quality control of the documents and participate in company initiatives for QC.
  • Work with clients, contractors, and local officials under the direction of the project Architect to coordinate construction issues.
  • Assist in the process of logging and reviewing shop drawings.
  • Establish good rapport with colleagues and external teams.  



  • Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture is required.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience with Hospitality and Residential projects.
  • Strong written, technical and verbal communications skills for reporting.
  • Ability to work and think independently.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills, exercise professional poise and be attentive and approachable.
  • Ability to balance competing work and demands.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Vision Software a plus.
  • Proficient with computer-assisted design software such as Revit AutoCAD, Adobe, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, In-design; 3D software such as Sketchup is required.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Must maintain a professional, and productive working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • License a plus.
