Manager of FP&A and Financial Systems

The Manager of FP&A and Financial Systems will be responsible for guiding analytical activities and developing management reporting for the firm. This position includes leading all initiatives related to the ERP system, while being responsible for the administration and maintenance of the system.

The role requires excellent management skills, the ability to think critically, adapt provide insightful observations, trend analyses, and recommend an action. Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication is a key attribute of this position. Familiarity with accounting principles, policies, and practices is required to be effective in the role.   Additionally, the Manager of FP&A and Financial Systems will be responsible for designing processes to ensure data integrity and successful analytical operations. 

This position reports to the CFO and will be working with senior leadership as well as members of the other support departments within Perkins Eastman.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead / perform routine and ad hoc financial analyses, developing new or improved analytical protocols and approaches, as necessary
  • Create management reporting standards for the Company and ensure timely distribution of management reports
  • Create Microsoft SSRS custom reports, workflows and stored procedures to extend Vision beyond standard configuration and support various business needs
  • Responsible for leading and developing the reporting and analytic team.  
  • Monitor database backups for compliance with disaster recovery protocol 
  • Perform requirements gathering to craft and conduct test plans and validations (QA/QC) for new feature roll out
  • Rigorously and effectively examine large quantities of financial data and derive insights from these data sets highlighting key trends; ensure a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness for department leaders
  • Conduct routine audits of data storage systems and databases, conducting many tests and analyzing the results before devising new solutions or finding ways to enhance data management solutions
  • Maintain Microsoft SQL Service databases to ensure high data quality, database performance, and user security. 
  • Develop processes to assist with creating and refreshing data warehouses and tools for advanced analysis/reports
  •  Assist with application configuration changes/initiatives, as needed.  This includes exception reporting, testing of new modules, features and upgrades 
  • Support M&A due diligence and integration.  Integration support mainly in the form of mapping, testing, and migration of legacy data into the Vision database 
  • Lead creation of new process-related training material and deliver training
  • Engage with teams across cross functional areas including Finance & Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, IT, and Project Management to understand, explain, support, and improve business systems and analysis.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorís Degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science or other related discipline
  • ERP System experience is required (Deltek Vision a plus)
  • 8+ years of experience in a professional services environment with 3 years of supervisory / management experience, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction.
  • A minimum of 3 years of MS SQL and R Studio experience is required
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, development, and maintenance of FP&A reports, optimizing efficiency in manipulating data and writing complex queries.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Hands on experience in using different DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MSQL & Access)
